2006: The Year in Books Meme

This list of books are those I read in the 2006 calendar year. The seemingly random order is simply the sequence in which I read the books. It really seems like there were more, but I fell down on my record keeping in the latter half of 2005, so some of the "missing books" I'm remembering were probably from that time frame. If it's not on the list, I can't claim it for the year. Why, yes... I normally do obsessively keep lists of the books I read. Don't you? In 2007, I'm going to start tracking movies, too. Oh, boy!

I'd love to see this turn into a meme so I can see what you all have been reading, too. I am not going to link to the books, because there are too many, and I am too lazy, and it would take forever. Plus, I think it might have the unintended effect of scaring people away from playing along. So go out there into bloggyland and tell me what you've read. And leave me a comment so I know to come and find you. Now, to the list...

Very interesting. I stopped keeping my list up-to-date sometime in the last year, so I don't know that I can play along. Maybe I can fudge something...

I found I have trouble keeping up the list if I reshelve too soon. I have to leave the finished books on my desk or make a holding area on the PC tower or I forget to update. Lucky for you, it's the perfect time to start fresh.

I'm way too disorganized to keep a list. And I read way too much! What I should do is when I enter a book into LibraryThing I should make a note of when I read the book. But there doesn't seem to be a place to do that, except in the 'tags' part. And then 'read in xxxx year' may come up in that book's tags, and I just find that annoying!

Anyway, Never Let Me Go was one of my very favorite books of 2006.

Wow, impressive list. Love lists! Haven't read any of those books actually, but I think I will add some of those titles to my evergrowing amazon wish list.

Great names, turtlebella!! LOL!

I have not been compulsively keeping lists lately, too busy and disorganized.

I did read the Philip Pullman books, YUM, cool books, and Drop City, which I enjoyed except the ending), made me want to write about my experiences, and The Mermaid Chair, and Three Woemn by Marge Piercy and 2 of the Drangon Song Series, and I'm in the middle of The Mineral Palce. I also read part of Cider House Rules--maybe about 2/3 and will hopefully complete it on my next trip. I love that book. Too bad you didn't rate the books in some way, LOL!
