Stumbling Along

Sorry for my sporadic presence around bloggyland of late. November was really super busy for me. When it got about halfway through the month without me posting, I started thinking, maybe I should just take the whole month off. Sort of like the anti-NaBloPoMo. [Yeah, 'cause I'm a rebel like that.]

However, December has turned out to be just as busy around here, possibly even more so than November: all the same shit, plus the addition of the looming holiday hoopla. It's hard to get back into the swing of blogging, particularly when there is so much other stuff that needs doing. Not surprisingly, I am not feeling especially festive this year, and haven't even begun the inevitable holiday preparations.

I wanted to get a tree this weekend, because the lovely aroma of balsam always cheers me up, but that hasn't happened yet either. I did sleep late this morning, though, which I absolutely needed after a truly exhausting week. Then we went out for an inexpensive lunch at a local pizza shop that has been in business since the 1920s (SodaBoy discovered they have fantastic clam chowder), then home again for an afternoon of chores. Speaking of which, I should go check that laundry...

Maybe we'll get a tree tomorrow.

Hey, I was beginning to wonder about you too! So glad you are still alive and bloggin'! I hear you about the busy month. Funny, before I had kids and was working, I used to think that when I became a SAHM, I'd have all kinds of time to do stuff that I couldn't do when I was working all the time. Not the case. No matter how much I try to avoid clogging up the calendar with unnecessary stuff around the holidays it happens just the same if not more. Good to hear from you. I miss sleeping in. Someday, I'll know what that's like again . . . hopefully!

You should get your tree. It does bring a certain cheer to the room. Now if I could just remember to water the dang thing...

I see you're having a busy month but I thought of you immediately when I read a new post at The Green Booth about mountain top removal. It sounds like good news. Anyway check it out if you have a couple of minutes and enjoy your tree and the holidays.

Still among the living! YAY! That;s a relief--for a minute or 7, I thought you might have a "real life!"

AK!

Glad yr still around--don't let blogging drag you down, though!

I'm considering giving it up for the new year. HA!

Sorry things are so busy - hope they slow down a bit so you get to enjoy some hot chocolate and a good book or something equally cozy!

Aw, shucks, you guys rock. Radio silence here for over a month, and I put up one lousy post, and everyone is here commenting. I feel so special!

I did get a tree yesterday, but it's not decorated yet. It smells fantastic, though, so it is serving its purpose.

Katrina, thanks for the tip. I am always interested in anything coal, especially good news.

I was getting worried about you! We've had our tree up for a little while now (since the weekend after Thanksgiving). I love looking at it--it makes my day!

I was wondering where you'd gone to! So nice to have you back. Why is the holiday cheer absent for you?

Is it decorated yet? Lit? Ours is up and lit but only has a few decorations on it--and a few presents from Heidi and gail.

My email has been not working sporadically and either the modem isn't working right or the cable signal is bad because I can't get online half the time at all. I am emailing you this way, hope it works, since gmail is down at the moment here.

Hey... totally unrelated to your post... I see the Project Budburst on your side bar. I'm actually thinking about getting my honors Botany class involved in it this year. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it! Please email me about it when you get a chance :)
